Worked with The New York State Thruway Authority on the development of pilot native meadow plantings and vegetation management strategies for the thruway. Work included design of native seed mixes, implementation and management specifications for meadow installations, and in-service workshops for Thruway staff and contractors. Work is to serve as the basis for conversion of mowed turf to natural vegetation throughout the Thruway System.

Design and implemented a series of native meadow plantings on the Taconic Parkway for New York Department of Transportation. Wildflowers from our Taconic Parkway NY landscape were the subject of a photo by Cece Fabbro that won third place in a Federal Highway Administration (FHA) contest. The picture ran in the FHA’s magazine Roadsides.
Designed a streetscape for the Borough of Columbia including innovative native street tree planting and sidewalk construction which complemented the history of the community.

Designed an ecologically based passive park for the town of Strasburg, PA. The twelve-acre park is composed entirely of native plants. Incorporated into the design are walking and vehicular paths, habitat observation areas with interpretive signage, native plant demonstration gardens, and an earthen amphitheater.
Designed a native landscape demonstration planting at the Visitor Center on Interstate 95, between Baltimore and Washington, DC for the Maryland Highway Administration.

Created landscape plans under the direction of the Friends of the Wissahickon, Philadelphia, PA for two properties bordering Fairmount Park. These landscapes are to provide a model for ecological garden design near a sensitive ecological area.
Created a vegetation plan for Queen Anne’s Park in Middletown Township, PA. The plan encompasses a one mile stretch of Queen Anne’s Creek and adjacent lands
Served as a consultant on native meadow projects to Quaker Hill Gardens in Pawling, New York, a 1,300-acre native landscape garden.
Served as a consultant for SWA Associates, Sausalito, California, on the National Audiovisual Center, a new Library of Congress facility in Culpeper, VA.
